MAC Russian Red

This lipstick was something that I wanted for quite some time and a few months ago I decided to just go for it and buy it.

This is best described as the perfect red, it's such a classic colour and I love it so much. Even though I don't get a huge amount of use from it as it is rather bright/bold, whenever I get the chance, I like to pop it on.

It is a matte finish, which is my absolute favourite finish for lipsticks and it last for so long, I never need to re-apply it throughout the day and it looks the exact same when I go to remove it at night. Although, this does mean it dries out my lips and so I have to make sure I apply lip balm before/after I have worn this.

If you are a red lipstick lover I highly recommend buying this, it is £15.50 and you can get it here.

Thank you for reading.

Being Happy and Looking Forward

"The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you not going to stay where you are" - Unknown.

This is a bit of a different post to normal but I have wanted to write about something like this for a while.

I've never really admitted it to anyone but over the last year and a half I wouldn't say I was very happy, I would say the most unhappy I have been though was about a year ago. Although things aren't all great in my life right now I really wanted to start trying to make positive changes.

I'm really into quotes by the way so expect a whole bunch in this post.

" It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live" - Albus Dumbledore

I would say I waste a lot of my time thinking about 'what if's' and wishing for things that I can't have and what I have realised is that instead of hoping for the impossible, I need to make the most of what I have as I don't realise what I've got, we all sometimes take for granted the little things in life, so I want to try and appreciate those things and hopefully you will too.

I love these two websites, they just help me realise how much I actually have.

We can only move forward in life, there is no going back so why dwell on the past?
The most that we can all do in life is to try our best at everything and spread happiness and love to everyone around us.

Life is too short to not put our all into everything that we do. It's too short to hold a grudge, too short to not tell someone that you love them. Recently I've been shown that you never know when your last time seeing someone is going to be.

"It's impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not lived at all. In which case, you fail by default" - JK Rowling.

You can brighten someone else's day so easily, so why not? If you start to spread happiness you could find that you feel more happy as well.

But we all need to know that it's okay to be sad, it's alright to cry and feel despair and sadness. They are healthy, human emotions and we all feel it sometimes, some more than others but don't ever belittle someone's feelings as you will never know everything that's going on. Most people only let on so much, the rest could be a mystery to you.

I hope this helped at least one person, I think writing this all down definitely helped me.
Please if you ever need to talk about absolutely anything, talk to me. Don't hesitate for a moment, whether it's through email, twitter or the comments.

Smile, you're beautiful.

Thank you so much for reading,

Beauty Wish List

There's a few items that I've currently got my eye on so I thought I would share them with you, hopefully overtime I will be able to purchase these as I really want to try them out.

1- MAC Strobe Cream, I have wanted this for the longest time, at the moment I am really into dewy skin and this looks absolutely beautiful on people.

2- Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, I have to say Lily Pebbles/ViviannaDoesMakeup have really convinced me that I need this in my life, I love a good contour and so this is definitely near the top on my next to buy list, even with the quite large price tag. When I have seen this on people it looks great so I am really eager to try it.

3- Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, I have been using the same powder for quite some time and so I want to branch out and try out some others and this one has caught my eye.

4- NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, I absolutely love my Sheer Glow Foundation and so I want to try out this to see if it is as good as I have been told, I'm in need of a new concealer at the moment too so it may be time for me to make this purchase.

So they're all the pieces of make up I have my eye on at the moment, let me know what's on your beauty wish list. Thank you for reading.

Products I Regret Buying

When I was looking through my make up a few days ago I saw a few items that I never use and I don't really like so I thought I would write about a few things that I regret buying.

First is Benefit's Lollitint, I wanted this for so long and the colour is actually really pretty but I hardly ever use it because I never think it looks right on me, I know some people really love it but this is definitely not for me.

Next is MAC's Nylon Eye Shadow, I really, really want to like this and I've tried it so many times but I think it looks really over the top on me and it just doesn't look good at all. Although, I have heard some good reviews on it and seen it on people where it looks absolutely beautiful so I'm not saying everyone will hate it, I just know I do regret purchasing this.

So, pink lipsticks/lip glosses don't generally suit me but after seeing Barry M's lip gloss in Strawberries and Cream I really wanted to try it out and ever since I first applied it I knew it was never going to work. The colour just looks awful on me.

Lastly, is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold, this is such a beautiful colour and when I do wear it, I really like how it looks but I just never reach for it as I like quite neutral eyes. I do think in the spring/summer time I will wear it a little bit but I wouldn't miss this product.

Thankyou for reading, if you have any products that you regret buying let me know.

My Mac Eyeshadow Quad

I was going through my make up earlier today and I came across my Mac Eyeshadow Quad and decided that I really wanted to write a blog post about it. I really love all of the colours and so I thought I would share them with you.

So the four colours I have are Haux (top left) Cranberry (top right) Tempting (bottom left) and All That Glitters (bottom right)

I use all of these colours on a regular basis but my absolute favourites are Haux and All That Glitters, I use them so often and they are perfect shades for a subtle look (which I am really into at the moment)

(L-R) Tempting, All That Glitters, Cranberry, Haux

I really want to build my collection of my Mac eye shadows and I am currently eyeing a few up. Let me know what your favourite Mac eye shadows are and thank you for reading.

My Favourite Scent - Marc Jacobs Daisy

Ever since I first smelt the Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume I fell completely in love with it. I'm the worst at describing scents so I'll leave it to the actual description. It is described as a fresh, airy and feminine scent with grapefruit, wild strawberry and violet leaf notes.

I use this all the time when I go out and a lot of people ask me what I have on.

I love the bottle as well as it is fairly simple and whenever I look at it I think how pretty it looks.

Let me know what your favourite scent is and thanks for reading.

Sunday Relaxtion

Every once in a while I like to wind down and take a break to do some pampering and today was one of those days.

As soon as I got out of bed I made myself a cappuccino to wake me up a bit.

After watching numerous Disney films whilst laying in bed I ran myself a bath with my Lush Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar. I put on the Sanctuary 5 minute Detox Face Mask and listened to some music whilst reading blog posts.

For the rest of the day I made some Rice Krispie buns with my brother and then stayed in bed, putting off all of my responsibilities for a day whilst watching Netflix.

I love taking a day off sometimes and although the day after I know I could've spent my time more productively, I definitely do need to relax every once in a while.

Hope you had a lovely day today and thank you for reading.

My Top Skincare Products

It has took me a while but I finally have a solid skincare routine which is benefiting my skin. A few products in particular I have been really liking and I now use them on a very regular basis and my skin is getting better and better.

The first thing I have been loving is my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, I have this in the limited edition fragrance Orange Flower and Chamomile, I was worried this scent would be too much but you can hardly tell it's there. This takes off my make up so well and I will definitely keep repurchasing this.

Next I have been loving the Nivea Rich and Regenerating Night Cream every night for so long now and before I used it I would wake up with dry patches and my skin would look horrible and putting foundation on would be a nightmare but this is so great and I wake up in the morning with smooth skin.

I use the Clean and Clear Morning Energy Skin Brightening Scrub 1-2 times a week and I notice how soft my skin feels after using this. I have repurchased this so many times and it's a really nice, affordable product.

My last favourite skincare product is my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, I got this about a year ago, I use it pretty much before every make up application and I'm only two thirds of the way through. I was really sceptical about purchasing this as I had never spent this much money on a skincare item but it has definitely been worth the money and it helps my make up go on really well and no doubt I will be repurchasing this.

Thanks for reading, let me know what your favourite skincare products are. If you didn't see my last post I am now uploading on a Sunday, Tuesday and a Thursday.

Shopping the Sales // Haul

I never intended to buy anything in the sales but with Feel Unique's tempting offers I couldn't resist purchasing something and when I start, I don't know how to stop.
(I was silly and I forgot to include one of the items in the photo so it's in there separately)

First of all I bought the First Aid Beauty Blemish Patrol Pads, I've heard some good things about this brand and I've always wanted to try something of theirs but never actually done it. I haven't had these long enough to have a proper opinion about them but I will be sure to let you know what my thoughts are on them.

I also purchased theBalm Nude Tude eye shadow palette. I was never really that desperate for this but when I was looking on Feel Unique when the sales were on I had a look at it and the shades are so beautiful, I have used this quite a few times since I got it and I have been really enjoying it.

I am a lover of a red lip so I couldn't resist buying Mac's Russian Red, this is such a typical red, it lasts all day and is a matte which is my favourite lip finish so this is everything I love in one!

I have gone through quite a few of the Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream and it is a staple item in my skin care routine and I was running low on this so I needed to buy a new one, I use this every night and have done for most of last year. It is really affordable and I would recommend it.

My hair is pretty damaged at the moment (I probably should get it cut but I've been putting it off) so I bought a few items for dry/damaged hair that hopefully with save it a bit. I got the Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Perfecter Oil, The sleek restorer shampoo and nourishing repairer conditioner, I haven't used these many times but my hair felt really soft after using it so hopefully it will help.

Also I now am going to follow schedule and post on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Thankyou for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

Welcoming 2015

So I wasn't planning on doing one of these posts. I actually wanted to stay away from it but seeing other peoples has drove me to write this.

So it's another year and I always seem to make new years resolutions. I hardly ever stick to them though - typical.
I thought I would share what mine are and maybe it might motivate me to put a bit more effort in then usual so here it goes.

1. Drink more water - I got through phases where I do this and I feel so much better than usual so I really want to stick to it.

2. Consistently make blog posts that I am really happy with - I don't want to set a followers goal as I have no idea what will happen this year but I want to be happy with my blog and then maybe others will enjoy it.

3. Pass my A Levels - I know I'm only going to do this if I work hard so I need to sort myself out and realise that the next episode of American Horror Story can wait a little bit.

4. Take more photos - This one is pretty self explanatory but I want to have lots of things to look back on.

here comes the hefty one..

5. Live my life more - this may sound a bit strange but thinking back on 2014 I don't think I really put myself out there a lot and made each day count, the past few months has really shown me that each day is precious and we never know when our last with someone is going to be.

So these are my resolutions, I tried not to have too many as I think that just makes it completely impossible to see them through and I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Thanks for reading and let me know what your resolutions are.

Current Favourite Lip Products

So recently I have been wearing lip products a lot more and I have been loving quite a few so I have put together my favourite lip products.

My favourites are Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107, Mac Patisserie, Mac Velvet Teddy and Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine in Charm Offensive.

I have been wearing all of these so much recently and I have received many compliments about them.

First of all the Rimmel Lipstick in 107 is my favourite dark lip colour, it is such a perfect wine-berry colour. Although I don't wear this colour on an everyday basis as I think it would look a bit too much, whenever I can, I wear this colour and so many people ask me what it is. The only fault with it is that it dries out my lips so I have to make sure I have applied lip balm. Apart from that I love it.

Next is Mac Patisserie, whenever I want quite a subtle lip I always go for this as it is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. I absolutely love the packaging and smell of Mac lipsticks. The only fault with this lipstick is that it doesn't last too long so I have to reapply it quite a few times during the day.

Next is another Mac lipstick, this is more of a recent purchase but I have wore this so much since I bought it and it is Mac Velvet Teddy. This is a gorgeous matte brown, nude shade and I was worried this wasn't going to suit me at all but I think it looks fine on me. I have had quite a few people asking me what this was when I was wearing it and I absolutely love it.

Lastly is the Soap and Glory Lip Lacquer. When I first saw this I thought that I should steer clear of it as these sorts of shades usually look awful on me but after trying it on I actually really like it. The applicator for this is my favourite, it is quite flat and really flexible which means that the application is great. I really recommend this for people who want something that isn't too bold but it still looks like they have something on their lips.

So they were my current favourite lip products. Let me know what yours are.
Speak to you soon.
